A game about a game.
We’ve reached recursivosity.
I don’t think that’s a real word. It should be however.
Picked up “It’s a Wipe!” on Steam.
Basically, it’s Guild Manager 2015. You are playing a fantasy MMO and have to recruit players to take down the bosses. Ha! You wish it was that easy. Just like real Warcraft guilds, you have to manage your guild, keeping folks placated by taking on new content, and the players never quite do what you want them to do.
You set an overall strategy, but here’s the thing. your guild members in this game, just like Guild Members in any fantasy game out there, may fail to carry out your brilliant plans (it’s never the raid leader’s fault is it?). You can shout a command once a turn to try to get them back on track, but.. yeah. Some people. The phrase “you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make them drink” becomes “You can lead a DPS to the Boss, but you can’t make him actually kill the boss.”
That’s just one of the problems. You see, your players not only want new content, they want new shiny equipment to go with their content and you have to worry about personality conflicts and what happens when two good players want the same piece of gear. Plus there’s the dreaded real life to worry about, where on some raids half your team won’t even show up!
Hint: No matter what you do, you’re going to tick someone off.
So, if you’ve ever been a raider in WOW or any other MMO, this game will bring up memories. If you’ve ever had to deal with DKP, Loot Ninjas, and/or carries.. these memories may be uncomfortable.
