Fire Emblem Fates three day sales top 300,000

Well, despite the anger of some folks who were upset about the localization for Fire Emblem Fates for various “reasons”, it looks like Fire Emblem Fates is a huge hit. Nintendo has announced that sales of the various editions of Fire Emblem Fates have topped 300,000. This is huge.How huge? Well, consider this. The last game in the Fire Emblem (Fire Emblem Awakening) series, only sold 60,000 in the launch window, and 180,000 in the first MONTH. Now, to be fair, this was to a point because Nintendo vastly underestimated the demand for Fire Emblem games and the stock of games was constrained for some time due to the fact that the sales of the game were such that supply could not come CLOSE to demand.

The story says that people slightly prefer the “Good Guys” story of Birthright which is slightly easier, but  Conquest sold well too. I wonder how many of those 300,000 sales are people buying the other edition to get the “Other side of the story”. We’ll know more in the coming weeks as the third piece of the story, Revelation, goes on sale as a $20 DLC.
